Manchester’s whopping 5,000 capacity BEC Arena venue will light up with the Carribean tones of eagerly anticipated event Manchester Reggae Festival this November will showcase the very best of the genre’s sound thanks to an all-star cast of musical talent.
Taking place on Saturday 30th November, Manchester Reggae Festival will celebrate all things dancehall, jungle and dub, as well as hosting a simply irresistible selection of mouth-watering reggae food provided by market vendors from near and far.
With music provided by one of the UK’s biggest sound-systems. Manchester Reggae Festival will be spearheaded by the talents of iconic soul & reggae group Aswad, and Channel One Sound System, who will deliver a dynamic live show to the people of Manchester. With Jamaican vocalist Dawn Penn and Dub Smugglers Sound System also joining the ensemble, ragga artist General Levy will also deliver his Caribbean tones to the BEC, in addition to a highly anticipated performance from Iration Steppers.
Rounding off the billing with a performance from British dub pioneer Mad Professor - a man hailed with the movement of dub music into the digital age - as well as sets from British/Jamaican band Musical Youth and London collective Reggae Roast, Manchester Reggae Festival will include further finales from West London MC Solo Banton, Trojan Sound System - the legendary collective who recently performed at iconic London venue Alexandra Palace - and Wayne Wonder, the Jamaican singer best known for his UK Top #10 single ‘No Letting Go’ which has amassed over 50 million combined Youtube and Spotify streams.
